One Week Old!
Maya Leigh is already one week old! It kind of looks like she may be utilizing her middle finger in this picture, but really she is just saying, "Hey! I'm one week old! And I like to spit up!"
She had her well child check-up today and is 8 pounds 13 ounces (80th percentile), 21 inches long (86th percentile) and has a 80th percentile head. No 98 percentile head for this chica... that's her sister's special attribute. The doctor said she looks really good and we don't have to go back until she is 2 months.
When we were out and about today, we took Maya to our favorite spots so Callie could show her the ropes.
She slept through our outing this time, but there will be many more of those in our future if she likes muffins and bagels as much as her older sister!
I put a bunch of photos on shutterfly, so if you have a couple minutes fee free to browse the link!

Weekend Wrap-Up: The New Baby Edition!
Oh boy...where to begin?
I'm thinking this post won't be the most chronological of the weekend because, well, my brain has no idea really what happened when. But I did put some collages together so I can share a bunch of pictures without the post being super duper long. For that, I pat myself on the back.
I'm tired.
A my-baby-was-up-screaming-for-3-straight-hours-in-the-middle-of-the-night tired.
But it is a good tired. Though if that keeps happening, it probably won't be so good anymore.
Anyway.
A big focus of this weekend was POOP. The little peanut last pooped on Wednesday morning at the hospital. We tried some things like using a rectal thermometer to poke around. And then the pink vibrating chair (it made Callie poop a lot when she was a baby). It was not really received that well. At first.
But we didn't have any poop luck until G-pa was holding her around 4:00 today. He got a poop-splosion out of her. It was awesome. Now I no longer need to think about poop 24/7.
Speaking of potty issues, this may be a good time to mention that Callie's transition into big sisterhood is going as expected. I believe we heard something like "I AM NOT A BIG GIRL" today when having an epic potty battle and trying to reason with her like a big girl. Listening and following directions, using her manners, and all around being pleasant have been qualities that have not been at all consistent with our toddler this weekend, but again, that is to be expected. We are just taking deep breaths, trying to stay as calm and patient as possible, and carrying on.
On the plus side, Callie is ENTHRALLED by Maya. She LOVES her.
As for the rest of the weekend...there was a lot of sleeping...
...and a few awake times (though a lot of the awake times consisted of screaming)...
...and lots of time with friends and family...
...and of course, time with Mom and Dad.
I'm thinking these pictures back up my previous statement about being tired.
Now I am trying to type one-handed with a 5-day old baby sleeping on me, so I am going to be done. I will work on getting all our photos on Shutterfly tomorrow and will post the link soon.
Hope you had a great weekend...sleep well for us tonight please! :)

Favorite-Things-Phone-Dump Friday
So it is Friday.
Lots of favorite things this week, obviously...too many to identify by number.
We are home and in a blur of baby snuggles, sleepless nights, sisterly love and jealousy, a little toddler regression, poop watch (it has been since Wednesday...poop needs to happen NOW), lots and lots of nursing, baby screams, baby naps, adult and toddler naps, visitors, trying find the time to take showers, and all around just happy utter exhaustion.
So once again, I'm just going to pick some of my favorite pictures since I last posted and call it a night.
Have a great weekend!

Maya's Hospital Stay
I was going to put together all these adorable collages and such of our time at the hospital. You know, with all the free time I was going to have today.
But wait- there was a baby to hold, feed and stare at, so no adorable collages. So I will just throw a bunch of photos in this post and call it good.
But first, a few more details about our little peanut's birth day.
If you want to know the short version of the day, read on. We got to the hospital at 6am. After being poked four times by three different people, they were able to start an IV and the Pitocin started around 7:45am. Then my doctor broke my water about 9:45. Contractions started and I got an epidural around 11:45. By 1:30 I was at 8 cm and then by about 4:00 I was ready to push. After 2 contractions at 4:11pm she was out. SO MUCH FASTER than her sister. :)
She was 8 pounds 10 ounces, 21 inches long, and a normal sized head.
We were able to do skin to skin right away and she breastfed at about 4:45pm like a champ. She has been eating well since. I hope it continues.
She was up most of the night last night and slept most of the day today, so her days and nights need some work. But holy moly she is adorable.
Okay, I'm done. See the pictures for more of the story: visitors, diaper changes, and just hanging out. It has been a good couple of days. :)
We head home sometime tomorrow morning. Looking forward to the exhausted happy chaos that will become our life as a new family of 4!

Maya Leigh Gosselin
Hamsie has arrived!
Maya Leigh was born today at 4:11pm and is beautiful. Everything went smoothly and we are so happy and exhausted and ecstatic.
I'll post more tomorrow when I'm not so tired, but here are a couple of pictures of our new little darling (and her big sister!).
Thanks for all the lovely thoughts, prayers, and messages! More tomorrow, I promise. :)

43-Months-Old and ALMOST a Big Sister
This girl spent her 43-month birthday with G-ma.
She had WAY more fun with G-ma than she would have with me...I spent the day going to the doctor, then city hall to file for homestead for the new house, to the DMV to update my address on my license, getting last minute things at Target, and napping.
Why must I do all of those things today you ask?
Because my doctor had great news for me. Hamsie has dropped and progressed. Because of that, along with the fact that we don't want her to get too big (had to use the vacuum with Callie and her big head, not a fun situation), we decided that tomorrow will be Hamsie's birth-day. (Now that the royal baby was born today, we won't have to worry about him stealing Hamsie's thunder...hahaha).
Chris and I will be heading to the hospital at 6am tomorrow and hopefully we'll get to meet our new little girl tomorrow afternoon/evening.
When Callie got home today I explained to her that Hamsie was coming tomorrow. Our conversation went something like this:
Me: Callie, guess what? HAMSIE is going to come out tomorrow! You're going to get to meet her!
Callie: You mean, like the next day?
Me: Yep! Tomorrow!
Callie: I want to go to sleep right now!
I took that to mean she is so excited she wants to go to sleep so tomorrow comes sooner. :)
She just left with my dad and is spending the next few nights there and at G-ma and G-pa's house. She's a lucky girl to have so many people take care of her.
I'll spend the rest of the evening watching mindless TV and trying not to freak out, while Chris, G-ma and our friend Andy are at the old house doing some more painting. Nothing like trying to cram everything in at the last minute!
Here is one more belly shot, in our new bedroom set mirror.
Thanks again for all your prayers, good vibes, messages and support. We'd love it if you keep them coming tomorrow! :)
