Weekend Wrap-Up

It is Sunday afternoon and I have only taken 3 photos all weekend…!!! We did things like go to Boom’s house for dinner and work around the house and take naps, but the only thing I took pictures of are these three girls after church this morning.

What is there to even say about those goofy faces??

The upcoming week is pretty busy, so hopefully my posts will get a bit more exciting. But I’m kind of enjoying the slow life right now, after the chaos of the first half of June.

Also, it’s almost July! 😱🤪

Summer Week 3

It’s already Friday again!! How did that happen? The girls spent the first part of the week on Madeline Island with Boom and G-ma. The left Monday morning, stopped for lunch, and rode the ferry!

It was fun to get pictures from their hotel room and the sunset!

Meanwhile at home, I saw a turtle on my walk, went to the pool solo, and hung out with the remaining two creatures at home that evening.

On Tuesday morning the girls and grandmas went to explore Big Bay State Park.

That afternoon they got a big treat and played in the pool.

Chris and I spent Tuesday evening with Laura, Lucy, Mila, Jim and Coco!

And that’s where my photos end for the week! Both girls were busy with friends and appointments and now it’s Friday evening.

Have a great weekend. June has really flown by!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Hi all! I can’t believe how HOT it was this weekend. Ugh!

On Saturday morning Maya and I met up with Boom, Auntie Yoda, Lucy and Mila downtown and went to the farmer’s market. So windy and hot!

Later, Cal and I went to the Lynx game. They won!

Today we went to brunch at Pinstripes and it was delicious as usual.

Have a great week!

Summer Week 2

Hello! Happy Friday! It was our first “real” week of summer at home, figuring out a routine. Kind of.

On Monday Maya played with slime and we went out to lunch with Boom, Lucy and Mila!

On Wednesday Maya’s friend came over all day and we went to the pool in the afternoon.

On Thursday evening we went to the Centennial Lakes Farmer’s market and the kids did a little fishing.

Today we met friends at the beach!

And an ice cream truck visited our neighborhood tonight!

Whew! Bring on the weekend.

Weekend Wrap-Up: Happy Father’s Day!

Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful dads in our life, including this guy!

Last weekend I didn’t get a chance to post our adventure to the farmer’s market on Saturday.

Today we got stuff done at home in the morning and then headed over to Dan and Hanna’s for a Father’s Day BBQ! Got a Diet Coke in honor of my dad. ❤️ And we got Pa a root beer kit!

Have a great week. Now it’s time for us to settle into some sort of summer routine…!

Summer Week 1: Colorado!!

Hi all! We spent our first week of summer in COLORADO!!!  Early Sunday morning (7am) we were in the air. When we landed we headed to see Auntie Mari, Uncle Josh, Avery and Carter!

That afternoon we headed to John and Jenny’s house, where we stayed all week. We had a great dinner and watched the Tony’s. Maya and Jenny got busy with a sewing project too! And of course, we all snuggled with their sweet dog, Hazel.

On Monday morning we headed down to Manitou Springs. Our first stop was an old school arcade.

Then it was time to head to lunch and the Garden of the Gods.

We went on an hour long horseback ride through the Garden of the Gods. It was beautiful!! Maya’s horse was named Fireball, Callie’s was named Jett, mine was named Clyde, and Chris’ was Pete.

Then it was time for ice cream- my lavender honey sherbet matched my pants!

That evening we relaxed at John and Jenny’s and had tacos for dinner.

On Tuesday morning Chris headed to the mountains for some fishing while the girls and I headed to babysit Carter for the morning! He is the cutest, smiliest baby!

Later that afternoon Maya and I walked up to the Denver Nature and Science Museum. There were lots of cool dinosaur exhibits. Maya chose a dinosaur souvenir named Brick (after soliciting people to vote for the name between France, Brick, and Peapod).

That night John got tickets for the girls, Jenny and me got to go see “& Juliet” at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts! It was SO fun.

Wednesday was Water World day! It was hot and sunny and the perfect day ti go on water slides and hang out in the wave pool and under our shady cabana.

As we were leaving it started storming, so we got home in time for Maya to calm Hazel down. She was not a fan of the thunder.

That night we went out for dinner at a fun spot John recommended. Jenny and Maya played Bingo (where they had to find a variety of things around the place) and John and Chris ordered gigantic breakfast burritos.

Later it was more snuggles for Hazel and the completion of the sewing project!

By Thursday we were all pretty tired, so we took it easy that morning and went to get brunch near J&J’s house. Then Margie arrived with her dog Blue!

That afternoon we headed out to the Titanic Immersive Experience. It was so interesting!

We relaxed at the house the rest of the evening. Maya created an digital art piece called  “John with Bangs in a Desert” that was pretty entertaining.

On Friday morning we headed up to Idaho Springs and had a great time shopping on their adorable main street (called Miner’s Street, as it was an old Gold Mining town).

Margie got us matching friendship bracelets and then we found a store called Margie’s Place! We ate at a pizza place and Callie found a little friend named Rocco.

After some rest time we made our way back to see the cousins to round out the trip!

Here are a few little videos we took.

Thanks to John and Jenny for hosting us! We are so grateful to have such a fun place to go to see family and do all sorts of fun vacation-y stuff!

Now it’s time to get regular summer life started.
