Weekend Wrap-Up

Hey all! Happy Sunday. We had a much calmer weekend than the past couple weekends, so it was a nice rest and recharge, with a little fun sprinkled in.

Yesterday morning Auntie Hanna, Mitchell and Isla came by for some impromptu donuts and play time.

Later we went over to see Auntie Yoda, Lucy, Mila and Boom for dinner and play time. And a SPIDER cake!

I tried bribing them all to smile for a picture before getting cake, and these were the results.  HAHAHA.

This morning Maya set up her Barbie dream house down in the living room.  Luna was not pleased that her usual perch was blocked by Barbie stuff.

Tonight we went swimming (complete with water squirter backpacks) and had dinner with G-ma, Auntie Hanna, Auntie Cat, Mitchell, and Isla.

Have a good week!

A Picture Update

Well, here I am again on a Friday with not too much for you. But I do have a couple humans (except one is me).

Work is just a lot, and teenagers post-pandemic are a lot and my brain is usually fried every 4pm and on each evening. But I do the best I can to get out for mid-day walks, especially during this beautiful fall time.  And I came home to Maya sitting outside doing her homework yesterday, and Luna was extra cuddly this morning.

We ended the week with a laser light dance party.

Have a lovely weekend!

MEA Week Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday! It was MEA week, so the girls had Wednesday-Friday off and I had Thursday-Friday off.

Also, this week our front tree color was amazing!

The girls went to Boom’s house on Wednesday for a change of scenery on their first day off.

We had a rocky start on Thursday morning, with cleaning up, packing and getting on the road by 10am. As you can see, I was the only one in the car on time.

But eventually we got going and headed to our destination…the Wisconsin Dells! The trees were pretty on the drive.

We got there around 1:30pm, so we had a couple hours to kill before checking into our resort. We spent those couple hours at Wizard Quest- going on interactive quests, solving puzzles, finding hidden objects, etc. It was like playing a live action video game.

It was weird, but we had a blast!

We checked into our room at Great Wolf Lodge and went to collect the candy lantern and “glam ears” that were part of our stay. Then, of course, we had to try out the water park for a bit before dinner!

We went to dinner at at a Mexican restaurant called Mexicali Rose, were the girls got kids margaritas! Maya continued to rock the glam ears.

After dinner it was already pretty late, so we headed back to the hotel for bedtime.

On Friday morning I went out for a run and saw the back of the “Howlin’ Tornado” water slide…more on that later.

Then it was time for our first family style breakfast, complete with cinnamon rolls, fruit, pancakes, bacon, sausage, eggs and potatoes!

We had a little time before the water park was open, so we hit up the arcade.

Then it was 10am and we were ready for water park fun…including all of us going on the Howlin’ Tornado. It was TERRIFYING but the girls loved it and went on many more times on their own! From behind you can see it is a straight shoot down and then a big open cone where your raft flies back and forth until you reach another slide down to the end.

They enjoyed more time in all the different water park sections, and the picture below on the left was as good of a photo as I was going to get when I asked the two of them for a quick picture. We then changed and went out to lunch at a restaurant that delivers your drinks and food via model train. We stopped at a very cute little weird candy and trinkets shop, and I found a little pin with my name on it…spelled correctly! At only $2.99, I had to get it, of course!

Then it was time for a ride on a Wisconsin Duck! The weather was lovely and the colors were beautiful.

We had some quiet time when we got back, and then went out to eat at a Mac and Cheese shop with the Johnson’s! They also were staying at Great Wolf Lodge for the weekend.

Once again, it was an early night in.  We were all exhausted after our busy day.

On Saturday morning we did breakfast, had more arcade fun, and I got a massage. It was supposed to be  a basic 60 minute massage, but the masseuse got mixed up, so instead it was 90 minutes and included cupping! It was quite the experience (in a good, albeit weird way, and my back is covered with red circles from the treatment).

Anyway…we spent most of the rest of the day back at the water park! The girls and Chris went on many many water slides, got drenched by big buckets, got clobbered in the wave pool, ate a VERY expensive pool-side lunch, and did it all again over and over for nearly 6 hours. I just did laps every once in awhile and had plenty of time to read my book.

Again...so many slides. So much time in the wave pool. Then we needed some quiet time back in the room and then decided to just order in pizza and watch Dancing With the Stars. Another early night!

Today we went to breakfast, packed up and stopped back at the fun little shop we went to on Friday before heading home to Luna!

This afternoon Maya and I went on a rollerblade/walk and found some fun Halloween houses.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday, everyone!  As promised, I have a lot more fun pictures for you for this wrap-up.  Our weekend was crazy!

On Friday night, we headed to a golf sports bar for the rehearsal dinner for Chris' cousin, Andrew, who got married yesterday.  We got to play video games and do a golf simulator! The kids had a blast, and so did the adults.

On Saturday morning, Maya had dance, and then we started getting ready for the wedding!  Callie helped me with my makeup, as I am inept in that area.  But I was able to do my own hair in a chaotic updo, with an added bonus of putting in one of my grandma's butterfly clips.

The wedding was at 2pm, and it was lovely.  Mitchell was the ring bearer, and he rocked it!

We were able to take some nice family photos outside the church, and then at the golf club where the reception was held. The girls were SO excited to dress up and attend a fancy event.

We had so much fun at the reception.  We got to hang out with Chris' Uncle Richie and Aunt Stacey, and kids enjoyed cousin time.

And, of course, there was cake (delicious homemade cupcakes!).

And dancing!

It was a lovely wedding.  Congrats to Andrew and Anna!

This morning I took Luna on a chilly fall walk, and enjoyed the beautiful sky.

Maya and I had a little Snapchat fun later...

And we met Boom, Auntie Yoda, Uncle Craigles, Lucy and Mila for brunch.  After that, Chris, Maya and I played a game that she made up called "Switch & Swap."  It was actually pretty fun.

This afternoon, the girls, Auntie Hanna and I went to see the Taylor Swift Era's Tour MOVIE.  It. Was. EPIC.

For a few videos of the wedding and concert movie, click here!

And that was HOPEFULLY a little more exciting than Friday's post.  This upcoming week is MEA, so we have a couple days off later this week!  I will likely just skip the Friday post and do an MEA break wrap-up on Sunday.

Have a good one!

A Picture Update

Ok so the past few Friday posts have been pretty lame, but nothing compared to this week…

Not a single human photo. Just some sun rays, wine, and homemade soup.

But, we have a super busy and super FUN weekend ahead of us, so I promise the Weekend Wrap-Up will be way more interesting.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Hey all! We had a nice weekend. Our big event yesterday was a zoo trip with Uncle Dan, Auntie Hanna, Mitchell and Isla.

It even included some dinosaurs!

Later Chris and the girls went to watch the Twins game and a friend’s house, and I finished a puzzle and met Boom and Laura at The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee show. It was hilarious!

Today Maya and I walked to the dollar store to get new Halloween decorations for our front pots.

And then Cal and I went with Boom to The Importance of Being Earnest…again.

Tonight was finally chilly enough for a fire!

Have a good week.
