Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday!  Another weekend sped on by.  Yesterday it started to feel like spring, and the kids were even outside sans coats for awhile!  I was able to get my first dose of the vaccine yesterday, thanks to "winning" the educator lottery.  I feel VERY thankful.  And last night, the girls had some Luna snuggles before bed.

Today did NOT feel like spring in Minnesota.  I went out this morning thinking Luna and I could go on a run, but it was snowing huge wet snowflakes, so we spent our time dodging super wet and slushy parts on the ground and instead just did a short walk.  Maya decided today would be a good day to wear a bathing suit with tights and socks, and the girls were just all over the place all morning, including in our bed where I was trying to rest my sore arm.  Secrets galore were whispered.

This afternoon we went out with Auntie Cat to get some sunshine and had a fun winter adventure!

Also, today is Auntie Yoda and Uncle Craigles' 6th anniversary!  Six years ago we were all down in Mexico having just the BEST time.  These pictures popped up on my Timehop and they are my favorites.  Now Lucy and Mila are almost the same ages that Maya and Callie were at their wedding.  And my dad had way too much fun on the dance floor with both girls that night.  So many wonderful memories to cherish.

I can't believe to morrow is March!  I finished (and even exceeded) my February running goal.  I ran 64 miles with a goal of 60.

My March plan is to train for a virtual 15K (9.3 miles), which I'll compete on or around April 10th!

Have a great week.

A Picture Update

Happy Friday!  Here are some pictures from the week...I organized them in a more thematic way this time.

Maya- this girl is just HILARIOUS.   I don't even know how to describe how funny she is.  But these pictures give a taste.

Callie doesn't generally let me take too many pics of her anymore, but we got some sister pics this week.  Thanks to G-ma for the outdoor shots.  It's SO nice here in MN (at least for winter time!).

Distance learning is still going strong...kind of.  Ha.  I can't believe it is almost March and I'm glad that spring feels around the corner.

Friday crazies at Boom's house!

Have a great weekend.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday! In case you missed my post yesterday, make sure to click here for very exciting news!

This weekend was pretty chill. We got to go hang out with Mitchell yesterday afternoon, and had a blast!

The girls invaded Hanna's shoe closet- the highest heels were the top choices (and Callie's feet can barely fit into them!)

This morning I finished my puzzle and the girls acted as “puparazzi” for Luna. They’re obsessed.

After lunch we met Boom for an outdoor walk at Woodlake Nature Center.

Before dinner we did a Zoom game with Boom, Auntie Mari, and Auntie Yoda, etc! It was pretty entertaining.

The amount of energy in 7-year-old bodies is infinitely higher than nearly-39-year-old bodies by Sunday evening, so we put Maya on the treadmill for 5 minutes. She loves it.

I’ll leave you with one of our new favorite pastimes: recreating BABY ISLA faces!

And also, click here a video of the crazy antics during the polar vortex of the last couple weeks!

Have a great week!

Isla Grace!!!

Hey all! Remember the exciting week I said we had?? It’s because Chris and I have a new niece and the girls have a new cousin!!!!!!

Isla Grace joined the Gosselin family on Monday afternoon, surprising everyone by arriving 8 weeks early (trying to outdo her bro Mitchell, I guess)! She weighed in at 3 lbs 15 oz and is already a little champ!

We got to “meet” her on Wednesday night.

She’ll be staying in the NICU for 5-6 weeks, and obviously with COVID we won’t be able to go visit. But we are so grateful that she is doing so well, and are so excited for later this spring when we can get some baby snuggles!

We love you, Isla Grace!

Dan and Hanna sent this picture below, and when Maya saw it, she had to make the Isla face!

These girls are so excited to welcome another one to their cousin squad!

A Picture Update

Happy Friday all! It has been an incredibly crazy and exciting week! But more on that at a later date. For now, I just have a few pictures.

The girls didn’t have school on Tuesday but both Chris and I were working. At about noon he came in to my home “office” with paper and a pen and asked me to write a few hard clues for a scavenger hunt. Ha!The girls needed something to take up some of their unstructured/crazy time.

It was finally ABOVE ZERO DEGREES so we spent a bit of time mountain climbing. And last night we watched the finale of The Masked Dancer. It was such a fun family show!

This morning the sun looked very bright pink/orange and gleamed through the trees.

The girls had fun doing school at Boom’s house, as usual!

Have a great weekend!

Weekend Wrap-Up: Happy (Belated) Valentine’s Day!

Hello! It is already Monday night and I realized I would have usually done a Valentines post but I honestly didn’t think about it! So...happy belated V-Day!

Here are the pics from the rest of our weekend.

On Friday night we watched the 1997 Brandi. We soon of Cinderella. I have actually looked for this version to show the girls many times, because I must have watched it A LOT in high school and remembered it fondly. And it finally popped up on Disney+! It was so fun to rewatch it and the girls loved it.  On Saturday we just hunkered down, made Valentine’s treats and played games.

We headed to Boom's house on Sunday morning and it was SO COLD.

But the girls heated it up with a very hilarious Valentines Day performance.  Click here for some video evidence!

Yesterday afternoon we delivered some Valentines treats around and Maya was wearing an old dance costume...very weather appropriate.

We spent the rest of the evening doing Valentine Mad Libs on the bed- our favorite family spot!

Today we hunkered down and got productive.  The girls cleaned up their rooms and playrooms, with the promise of being able to sleep together in Maya's room if it is clean upstairs.  So it looks like Callie will be sleeping on Maya's floor!  They don't have school tomorrow, so it is a good night for that to happen.

Have a great week!

A Picture Update

Hi all! TGIF! Here's a look at our week...

Monday/Tuesday: Maya's new invention (aka a way to con people into giving her money) the "Toy Masheen" and a quick visit to play with Mitchell!

Wednesday/Thursday: fun/school at G-ma and Pa's house and Maya's school Valentine's Google Meet (adorable!)

Friday: morning frost outside the window because it is negative a million degrees outside and fun/school at Boom's house (and check out the new watercolor paintings Boom made the girls for Valentine’s Day!)

Today many kids at the girls' school started back full time in person (after a few stops and starts in the past month).  However, we have decided to continue distance learning for the rest of the year.  We have a really good thing going and are so lucky that the girls can spend more time with G-ma, Pa and Boom each week.  I do feel bad that they will be missing out on some of the social things at school, but overall we feel like they are both doing a great job handling the distance learning and I'm grateful for that.

Have a great long weekend!  I'll be back on Monday night for the Weekend Wrap-Up.

I’ll leave you with a dog who is totally over the negative million degree weather and now actively steals my heating pad whenever she can.

First up: can you ever imagine going back to an indoor play place like this??? Eeeeek!  Now the playing happens in family basements with masks on...

Weekend Wrap-Up

Brrrrrr!!! It is REALLY cold here and I’m trying not to be too crabby about it because me made it to FEBRUARY before any sort of Polar Vortex.

So obviously we did not do any outdoor winter adventures. Instead we masked up for some indoor family time.

But first, yesterday morning: Luna and I did have to venture out yesterday morning. And then I finished my puzzle (of the Captiol building I bought about a week before the insurrection, ironically).

Callie decided to throw a wedding. She married Mr. Bear. It was fancy. Luna was a flower girl.

Then we went to Boom’s house! The cousins enjoyed some playtime and Mila enjoyed Navarattan Korma, which turned her skin a sparkly shade of gold!

This morning we went to see Mitchell! He is close to walking and loved walking with Maya!

This afternoon we played the game Callie spent her birthday money on arrived. Something about matching Disney pictures to Memes. It was cute.

Tonight G-ma and Pa stopped by for a bit of the Super Bowl. We giggled at the commercials, mostly.

Have a great week!
