I am not sure how it is Sunday night already! This four day weekend flew by. We made the most of the mostly warmer than usual weather to do some fun outdoor things. But also there was a lot of unscheduled time at home, which rarely goes smoothly but we survived. Ha. Anyway...here's what we did!
The girls and Auntie Cat even got to ride (very slowly) in the back of Uncle Dan's truck down a dirt road! |
When we got home, the Christmas-ifying began!
And I did the outdoor pots too. Then spent the afternoon addressing Christmas cards in front of the tree with a glass of wine listening to Christmas music. It was lovely.
Sunday: This morning I woke up early to do my November project- a virtual 10K. I finished in 1 hour 2 minutes and 59 seconds, and got 11,000+ steps in by 7:30am. Then the rest of the morning was spent battling our youngest child about cleaning her room. Chris even told her that if she paid him $1 he would help her...but ultimately it was a lot of whining. And then Luna was naughty and went in her kennel so I told Maya that Luna couldn't come out until her room was clean. That ultimately did the trick because she can't stand going more than 10 minutes without finding Luna and squeezing her. Do I get a nomination for mother of the year for that? See the picture below for a list of Maya's commentary about cleaning. It is a riot.
Later on the girls all wrote notes to Santa (even Luna, apparently), and they played outside at the neighbor's house (ahhhhh the beauty of having kids who can just go out the door to play nearby).
As I was working on this blog post, I found these pictures on my phone, which thanks to the cloud on both Maya's iPad and my phone being the same, pop every once in awhile. I don't even know.
The girls put up and decorated our little tree from our old house and having it in a nice spot up in their playroom. My mom gave them each a number of ornaments from her collection, so they used those to decorate "their" tree.
Tonight at dinner we light out first advent candle and Maya read the Creation story from the Spark Bible.
Lastly, we are finally able to reveal Callie's room transformation! G-ma, Pa and Callie have spent countless hours painting, organizing, putting together shelves and headboards and putting up pictures. It is a VERY cool room.
As a reminder, here's a little taste of what it looked like before:
