Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday! We had a nice weekend with lots of fun things to fill it. Yesterday we played at home, went to the farmers market and had dance class.

Then we went to play at the park at Lake Harriet and caught some lovely sun rays.

Auntie Yoda, Uncle Craigles and Lucy joined us!

Love these girls! And excited for another baby to join their cute trio!
This morning Callie and I made blueberry scones while Maya played nearby.

Luna was way high maintenance and needy. Look at that face!

We finally switched Maya to a big girl car seat and she was very excited. She was in her previous toddler car seat for 4+ years and is now finally big enough to graduate to a booster seat.

Lastly, we went to Bronco and Violet’s birthday party and had so much fun with them and Auntie Hanna and Uncle Dan!

Love all these kids, and excited for a sixth baby to join them!!

Have a great week!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Alrighty it is already Sunday night!  We had a fun weekend.  It started with a run with Luna and a trip to Target (as usual) with Cal.

After Callie's dance class, she and I headed to Heritage Days to hang out with Uncle Dan and Auntie Hanna at the K-9 Foundation booth.  We watched some crazy bikers and then watched a K-9 demonstration, where Uncle Dan got to be "attacked" by one of the police dogs (see video at the end of the post)!

Then later we headed downtown!

Today our big outing was swimming...and Charlie and Sylvia joined us for a bit too.

The rest of the day was pretty much cleaning and being lazy.  And spoiling a silly dog.

I'll leave you with a longer video compilation, because it has been at least a month since I have put one together!  So for the end of summer through early fall videos, click here!

Have a great week!

A Picture Update

Happy Friday!

As much as I love summer, I AM SO OVER THIS HOT WEATHER. I just want fall and sweatshirt weather and crinkly leaves and cool air and hot apple cider. But I also know that come January I will be longing for 80 degrees and sunny.

I don’t have too many pictures from this week, but one of my faves is Lucy in a dress that Callie wore back in 2012!

And then we have the girls at school. Their classrooms are buddy rooms for the year, and they ended up being buddies with one other first grader.

Pa makes excellent breakfasts on Thursday mornings.

And we went to dinner last night and ended up sitting outside because...HEAT...?

Have a lovely weekend!

Wednesday Wisdom: Lady Advice

ASK LADY ADVICE

This is a clue to Lady Advice's identity!

Dear Lady Advice,
I need your advice.  I have a friend who ended up taking care of 2 dogs- schnauzers.  They are very cute and mellow.  They can't continue to take care of them so they are looking for someone to adopt them.  They are willing to split them up. They are mother and daughter dogs ages 8 and 12.  They have lived together for 8 years.  What do you think?  Should they split them up?  Help.

Thanks,
Upset Onlooker

*****************************************************

Dear Upset Onlooker,

No I don't think they should split up.  They are family. Maybe you could go to the pet store and see if they can find someone who wants both dogs.  Or maybe you would want both dogs?

Love,
Lady Advice

Dear Lady Advice,

Luna de Cosecha is Spanish for Harvest Moon.  September 21st is halfway between summer and fall. The full moon closest to September 21st tells the farmers when the end of their growing season is and when to harvest their crops.  It is called the Harvest Moon.  This year's Harvest Moon was also special because it occurred last week on Friday the 13th.  Did your dog Luna-tic turn into a wild animal?

Signed,
A Moon Follower

*****************************************************
Dear A Moon Follower,

Did she?  I don't know...I was probably asleep.  Wait.  I think Luna got eye boogers that day and she needed to take eye drops.  But I don't think that makes her a wild animal really.

Love,

Lady Advice

Weekend Wrap-Up

I'm not sure how it is already Sunday night, but here we are.  We had a fun weekend- it got hot again!  I will admit I'm fully ready for sweatshirt weather, so this heat wave wasn't my favorite.  But it was still nice to enjoy the sun a bit.  Like yesterday morning on my walk with Luna:

Then the girls and I went to Target where they tried on reading glasses and then Callie got a JUMPSUIT that's SUPER pumped about.

Our afternoon adventure was to the natural center where they ran and played in nature.

And then the girls caught some bugs, etc., in the pond.

And we saw lots of cool wildlife, to boot.

Today our big outing was to see a community theater production of "Beauty and the Beast." Boom's friend Steve played the Beast, so we got to see him after the show!  You may remember that we went to Shrek a few months ago...Steve was Shrek too.

Have a great week!

A Picture Update

It's the end of the 2nd week of school AND a full moon AND Friday the 13th.  I'm tired.  So this will be brief.

Jim and Coco were in town and came over for dinner on Monday night!

Callie had contemporary dance class and I took a sunray-filled walk on Tuesday.

I gave G-ma the heads up on Wednesday morning
that the girls needed some hair help!
And we celebrated Boom's birthday at the Malt Shoppe!

On Thursday I got a new perfect shirt and then we had a jammy party.

And a few pictures from school and the back-to-school night!

Have a lovely weekend!

Happy Birthday Boom!

We love you and are so glad we could celebrate with you tonight!

(Lady Advice will return next week for a monthly advice column...school schedules and homework are proving to be time consuming for L.A. this fall).

Timehop Tuesday

My first one isn’t exactly a Timehop, but we have matching cousins: Maya and Lucy both at 2-years-old in the rainbow stripey shirt.

And then 1st graders!

And this one is a little trippy!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday!  The weekend FLEW by, so I'll just let the pictures do the talking.

On Saturday morning we tried and failed to make glitter slime.  Pro tip: Dollar Store glitter glue
is not great.
Dance class started up again!  Callie is taking two classes this year: on Tuesdays she takes Contemporary,
and on Saturdays it is Tap/Jazz. Maya is holding steady with Tap/Ballet.
And they are just such little lovable weirdos.

They spent so much time on Saturday just playing together and with all their
little toys.  It was great!

Maya came on a walk with me and Luna this morning.

After church we ended up at Costco for groceries and then eventually pizza.

Later we went to Boom's house and watched the Lynx and played a bit outside.  Once again, the girls
were such little weirdos!
No idea what is going on here, but it seems about right...

Have a great week!
