A Picture Update

Happy Friday!  I survived another week of teacher inservice and the girls had a pretty fantastic last week of summer. On Monday they went downtown to hang out with Boom, Lucy and Iris!

They got to hang out with G-ma and Luna on Tuesday, and keep requesting to do chores to earn money!

They also went to the library and a fun park!

Chris stayed home with them on Wednesday because they both got to go see their classrooms and meet their teachers!  They are both SO excited for the school year to start (not til Wednesday!).

They hung out with Pa, G-ma, and a bit with Boom on Thursday.  Pa took them to the Bakken museum!

Then we snuggled up on Thursday night.

I was off today, so the girls, Boom and I headed to the STATE FAIR!!!

We got there around 8:30am so we did all the things that we knew would get really busy right away, starting with the Skyride.

Then we got mini-donuts, did the big slide, and corn!

And then on to the space tower.

The crop art was awesome this year.

Then it was on to more food- pineapple, milk, pronto pups, and BACON ON A STICK.

And our usual visit to the Alphabet Forest.

Then we went to see the animals, got ice cream at the dairy building, and rode the Ferris wheel!

We were there for just about exactly 4 hours, which was a perfect amount of time to do all the things and then leave when the crowds got crazy.

Have a great weekend!  I'll do my wrap-up on Monday, since...Labor Day Weekend!!!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Hey everybody!

It was a LOVELY weekend.  It started with breakfast at 7:15am on Saturday at Target and the playtime, lunch and a wagon ride at Auntie Cat's house.

Later in the afternoon we went to their school playground and had fun playing on the tire swing and running around.

Then we met friends for dinner and were able to eat on the patio, and by the end the kids looked like they were planning a jail break!

This morning we met Boom, Auntie Yoda, Uncle Craigles, and Lucy at a park to continue enjoying the lovely weather.  The zip line was a hit!

Lucy loved the slide too, and Callie was a monkey.

On the way to the car, some sort of animal up in a tree pooped on Maya's head, so a bath was in order when we got back to Boom's house.  And Lucy jumped in too! The girls are also way into playing with Calico Critters at Boom's house.

After a quiet afternoon, we went for an early evening outing.

Have a great weekend!

A Picture Update

First up, I missed posting for Uncle Craigles' birthday yesterday. Happy (belated) birthday Uncle Craigles!

I don't even remember this week except that I was at work and by 2pm everyday I wanted my nap time back.  But it was good to get back with my amazing team and the girls had a blast hanging out with Boom, G-ma, and Pa this week.  They are so stinking lucky (and so are we!).

Monday: Downtown fun with Boom and Iris,

Tuesday: Thunderstorms, a movie, and doggie love with G-ma.  And a SLEEPOVER!
Wednesday: A fun morning and spending birthday money...
...as well as gigantic donuts and the beach!...
...and then dinner a raffle at Nana and Papa's place!  Callie and Uncle Gus both won!

Friday: More downtown fun with Boom...
...and picking and weighing the cabbage (12 pounds!) in G-ma's garden to bring to school.

We made it to Friday!
And I found this on the Internet today and it seems appropriate considering my current Friday
evening energy level and 5:15am daily alarm.

Have a great weekend!

Dear Lady Advice,

Are "brown" eggs or "white" eggs better?

Dear "Don't Like Them Any Color,"

I'd say white eggs are better because they are easier to scramble.

Dear Wild, Bored City Dweller,

The best food for a piglet would be, apples. Pigs like them, why shouldn't piglets like them?

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday friends!

We had a fun and busy weekend.  Yesterday we went over to Boom's because Mari and Josh came to town for a brief stay. The girls were very busy playing and Callie helped Auntie Yoda make chocolate mousse.

Yay for Auntie Mari and Uncle Josh!

There was beanie baby throwing and a round of A-Maze-Ing Labyrinth game (that is probably 30 years old, since we played it when I was a kid).

And we had to get a picture of us together, of course.

Then we stopped by G-ma and Pa's house because it was their anniversary! It was a beautiful day so we hung out in the yard.  Callie's cabbage is growing SO BIG!  She's hoping to win the biggest cabbage prize at school.

Then later Auntie Cat came over for a little playtime and dinner.

Today we had Lucy for most of the day and had so much fun!

That bottom right picture makes me LOL. Guess what just happened? :)

After Lucy's nap we headed outside for a little water action, but it was pretty chilly.

Overall it was a fun end to an AMAZING SUMMER.

I go back to work tomorrow!  Thankfully there are 2 weeks of workshops and preparations for the year, so it will feel a bit like I'm easing back in...at least I hope that is the case!

Have a great week!

A Picture Update: Summer Week 10

Well, I blinked and here we are at the end of the last week of my summer break. These 10 weeks go so fast, EVERY SINGLE YEAR. So here we go...WEEK 10!

On Monday I actually had to wake Maya up.  But had to snap a picture of her sweet sleeping face first.  I LOVE THOSE CHEEKS.

I had some meetings at work so the girls spent the day at Boom's house and had a blast, as usual!

While running errands I came upon a Coke bottle that I couldn't pass up.  Then we had some fun play and snuggle time with Luna.

The sunrise on Tuesday was pretty lovely, and then later the girls I went out and took Luna for another walk!

It took a few tries to get the money shot, but I think we nailed it!

As we were heading back a surprise rainstorm came though and we got SOAKED.

That afternoon we met Jenna and the kids at the pool!

On Wednesday the girls found out what teachers they will be having for 1st and 4th grade and we went school supply shopping!  They were very excited.

Auntie Cat picked up Maya for a couple hours in the afternoon (after we went to the library), so Callie and I made some cereal bars and enjoyed the beautiful day outside.

The girls had their well-child check-ups on Thursday and then we went to a park, DQ, and on a walk with Luna.

Then I met Laura and some of her friends out for dinner and to see the musical "Rent!"

Today we spent some time at home in the morning being crafty. And I can't stop giggling at Maya's selfie.  We also took Luna to a couple of different parks, and she and I had to watch from afar because she was too dumb and whiny to get much closer up.

Tonight we met Auntie Yoda, Uncle Craigles, Lucy and Boom for a picnic at Gold Medal Park.  The girls had SO much fun playing and running around.

Then we finally made it to their condo pool the first time this summer ,and they couldn't coordinate jumping off the wall at the same time. Ha!

I took Luna for a sunset walk and it was beautiful.

I'll leave you with a bunch of random video clips from the past week or two.  Click here!

Have a great weekend!
