A Picture Update

Happy Friday!

It’s a 4-day weekend for me, which is awesome. It was a busy week at work with various trainings, meetings, and getting ready for the first day of school. I fell asleep before 8:30 at least 2 nights this week!

The girls had fun with Boom, G-ma and Pa again this week.

On Monday they were downtown with the crew!

On Tuesday they went to Rainbow Playplace with G-ma.

On Wednesday they got to go to school and meet their teachers!!

They got to play with G-ma again on Wednesday.

We went downtown Wednesday night to have our final dinner with Auntie Mari. She left today to head down to Missouri. The girls put on a “comedy show” with Auntie Mari as the guest of honor. There are a lot of clips of what actually went down, and it is fairly entertaining.

They toured the State Capital on Thursday with Pa!

And then came to visit me at work for a bit.

Today we did some errands and some cleaning and then they got into dance costumes for quiet time.

Later we went grocery shopping while my bookworm read her way through the store and I BOUGHT BRUSSEL SPROUTS for the first time in my 36 years. And since it was nice and warm out, be took the opportunity to get the pools out. We won’t have many of these days left, I’m afraid.

Have a great weekend! My wrap-up will likely be on Monday night, since it is Labor Day Weekend and all. Enjoy.

Timehop Tuesday

Hey all!

First up: Maya eating corn. She loves it, and it makes me happy. It was one of my dad’s favorite summer foods.

Then, Callie and Charlie. Oh my goodness!

Lastly, the girls:

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday!

We had a busy and fun weekend. We had brunch with Auntie Mari and Boom yesterday morning, and then went to the farmer’s market and did crafts.

We spent some time playing outside in the afternoon, and also went to see Boom play her flute at Central. The piano there is her old grand piano, so it is always lovely when she plays there and can play with it.

This morning the girls and I met Auntie Mari at the State Fair!

We had some yummy fair food and did some fun fair activities.

We also saw G-ma’s quilts and their ribbons! Yay G-ma!

It was great spending time with Auntie Mari...(She moves down to Missouri on Friday...?!?!).

Whenever my sisters and I went to the fair with our parents growing up, they would always let us pick out a souvenir on the way home. I kept that traditiongoing  today!

Auntie Cat took the girls for the afternoon and then fed us all dinner! Thanks Auntie Cat!

And while they were over there, G-ma and Chris did a training walk for Luna with Shambles helping out. They did not actually meet, but Luna was able to be in her vicinity without losing her mind, so that’s huge.

I’ll leave you with a Timehop Tuesday combo from the State Fair, that shows how long it had been since the girls had been there.

Anyone else think we were nuts for bringing a 1-month-old to the fair?

Have a great week!

A Picture Update

Holy moly it is Friday. I was back to work full time, though it was a fairly relaxed week with lots of independent work time. But man, I definitely missed my afternoon naps. Next week will be crazier with lots of meetings and trainings. But I’m just going to focus on one day at a time!

The girls spent Monday with Boom, Lucy and Iris! They were busy!

By Tuesday afternoon I was missing all the cuddle time, so we hung out in the hammock in the sunshine.

On Tuesday night we went over to Uncle Dan and Auntie Hanna’s for dinner. We saw Becca, Bronco, and Violet there too! And Shambles, of course.

The girls spent Wednesday and Thursday with G-ma and Pa doing all sorts of fun things.

Callie got to have one-on-one time with G-ma on Tuesday and Boom today. Lucky girl!

Maya spent Tuesday and today at her preschool for the last time. I can’t believe it! Both girls had a wonderful time at preschool and we are grateful for the loving teachers there (even though Maya didn’t talk to them much).

Have a great weekend!

Weekend Wrap-Up/Summer Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday! I’ll start off with my weekend wrap-up, and then I just have a few screenshots of my Instagram feed from this summer that pretty much sums it up.

Yesterday morning Callie and I met my friend Libby and her son Max for brunch.

Later, we met the Johnsons, Boom, and the Lindsays for fun times and dinner at Lake Nokomis!

It was also there that I took my two new favorite picture of the cousins.

So. Much. Cuteness.

Today we went to church and hung around the house for a bit. Then we met the Helds at the pool for a final summer fling and then played and ate pizza at their house.

And as for this summer...here it is...backwards chronologically...little moments captured in time.

I think I’m ready to go back to work. I’ll miss the girls, but I’m not going to lie, some space will be good for all of us. They have 2 more weeks before they start school, so they’ll get some good time with family this week. We are so spoiled.

Have a great week!

A Picture Update: Summer Week 10

I can’t believe it, but here we are. My summer is over and I go back to work on Monday.  The girls still have a couple more weeks, and then we’ll start our full-fledged fall schedule. Holy moly.

This week Callie had Rock Star Dance Camp in the afternoons (see video later) and Maya went to summer preschool on Tuesday and today. But I wanted to spend the mornings doing fun things with the three of us when we were together. On Monday we went to the zoo!

On Monday night we grilled and ate outside...and I also met Jenna for margaritas and chips and queso.

I voted on Tuesday morning! With a helper!

We went downtown on Wednesday morning to hang out with Boom and Lucy.

Yesterday we went to Edinborough Park.

And then Maya spent a lot of the afternoon chasing after a little toad. Luna tried not to lose her mind with it too.

We also did some Snapchat.

Yesterday evening we went to the farmers’ market with Pa.

This morning I tackled the big task of Callie’s bedroom, which is complicated in 2 ways:

1) Callie is THE WORST CLEANER EVER and spends massive amounts of time complaining about cleaning instead of just actually doing it and getting done quicker.

2) Her room was A DISASTER OF EPIC PROPORTIONS and her bed was in the middle of her room making walking around in there near impossible for far too long.

Anyway. It wasn’t pretty, but it is done.

Boom, Maya and I went to the final show of Rock Star Dance Camp this afternoon! And then out for DQ.

As for other themes of the week: Maya’s wardrobe choices were pretty epic. Like the one afternoon she put on 6 dresses at the same time. And ear muffs. And a scarf. When it was 91 degrees.

She embarrassed Callie during at least twice at afternoon pickups with what she was wearing. Hilarious.

I’ll leave you with a video of clips from the week!
