Weekend Wrap-Up: The Colorado Edition!

Ok we just finished watching the first game of the WNBA championship series. The Lynx were down by over 20 in the first quarter, down by 10 most of the rest of the game, and only lost by 1. This was my face for most of the game:

Game 2 is on Tuesday!

Anyway, the big fun weekend we had included me, Cal, and Chris in Colorado!! Maya stayed home with G-ma and Pa.

Chris and Cal flew out on Wednesday afternoon. Callie was soooooooooooooooooooooooo excited to go on vacation.

We stayed in Denver with my uncle John and aunt Jen. On Thursday Chris and Cal spent the day at the Denver Zoo.

Then I flew out on Thursday evening. On Friday morning we headed up to Loveland to see Grammy and Margie. We met Margie for breakfast.

Then we went to Boom's favorite Loveland Museum and the sculpture garden.

Then we got to visit Grammy. It had been over two years since I had seen her, and probably 4 or 5 years since Chris and Cal had. It was a pretty special visit.

We then left Loveland and headed to Estes and up to Rocky Mountain National Park.

Besides seeing the mountains, the other highlights we're seeing LOTS of elk near the road while driving and a double rainbow welcoming us back to Denver (along with lots of traffic).

On Saturday morning, John and Chris went golfing while us girls stayed back and worked on a sewing project! Meet Juliea, Callie's new doll.

Callie loved hanging out at John and Jenny's house throughout the weekend. Their animals were a source of entertainment, and Callie liked to be goofy with John.

Meanwhile, while we were having fun in Colorado, Maya was enjoying being the only child for G-ma and Pa. She also got to hang out with Hanna and Auntie Cat- lucky girl!

Back to Colorado. Saturday afternoon was a big event- one of the reasons why we went out there when we did.  John helped to develop the "Frozen" Broadway show in Denver, so we got to go see it! We kicked off the festivities with a "Frozen" piƱata.

And of course, there is some video.

Margie and her friend Taryn came to Denver for the show as well.

It. Was. Magical. I cried at least 5 times and thoroughly enjoyed the whole production. Callie loved it too. It heads to Broadway in February/March-ish of next year, so if you are in NYC when it is running, I highly recommend it!  After the show we went out for pizza and enjoyed our last night together.

We headed home this morning and Cal loved being above the clouds on the plane ride.

I was super excited to get back to this little nugget.

She seemed happy to see us too. And I realized just a bit ago that I missed posting yesterday for her 50-months-old day!!

After watching the Lynx game at home, we had dinner and a quick Snapchat session before bed.

Whew! I think that covers it. Thanks to John, Jenny, Margie, and Grammy for making our trip to special. And thanks to G-ma, Pa, Hanna, and Auntie Cat for spoiling Maya so I didn't feel too bad about leaving her at home this time.

Now...back to reality. Have a great week.

A Picture Update

Ok we are done with week 3 of the school schedule. I'm still tired. I think I must have just forgotten the intensity of full time working (with high schoolers) and then trying to be a functional parent (of little people) after that. It is something else. But we are surviving.

Anyway. This week. It's all about Maya.

She was back at Boom's on Monday!

And G-ma's house on Wednesday! And then we went to the pool with Auntie Yoda, Lucy and Uncle Craigles.

And then she was with Pa on Thursday!

We have a fun long weekend coming up, so come back on Sunday to hear all about it!

Timehop Tuesday

Happy Tuesday!

First up, Maya often joined Cal's dance class last year, and is happy to have her own class this year.

This girl and her love of books.

And then this is one of my favorite Timehops I have done in a long time. Four years goes SO fast!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday!

Yesterday was pretty chill. Both girls had dance, and I had to get some video again because it is so dang cute.

We went to the library and the park yesterday afternoon (notice how Maya would not take off her ballet outfit).

Today we went to a greyhound meet and greet with Boom after church. Boom is hoping to get a greyhound in the near future, wonit was so fun to meet a couple. They are such sweet dogs! Then we hung out downtown and watched the Lynx game with Boom and Auntie Mari.

Later this afternoon we met G-ma, Pa, Auntie Cat and Hanna at the nature center for a picnic and playtime. It was gorgeous outside! And so much fun!

We came across a baby snapping turtle.

And as I was working on putting the pictures together tonight, Hanna sent me the ones she took. One of which was me taking a picture that caught her taking a picture. So I put them both together.

And she caught some beautiful evening sunrays during our family walk.

Finally, Laura sent me a picture of Lucy on one of Callie's onesies. It took awhile, but Laura found Callie wearing the same onesie.

Hope you have a wonderful week.

A Picture Update

It is Friday and I am tired. This is gonna be brief.

I took this picture of Callie on Tuesday morning. She wanted to chase the geese, and happened to have a beautiful misty sunrise as the background.

Maya hung out with G-ma on Wednesday and Pa on Thursday.

And we spent some time outside enjoying the warmer weather.

Hope you enjoy your weekend as much as Maya enjoys the sprinkler!

Timehop Tuesday

Well, we are one week into our new fall schedule. Maya has an awful cold and we have to figure out how to make bath time a more regular activity.

Our Timehops today are all related to the first week of fall schedule.

The girls on the first day of 4-year-old preschool.

First day of school!

Boom is back from Russia and brought back a newfound taste for...Vodka! So we all had a little with her tonight to celebrate (minus Lucy of course)!

Happy Birthdah Boom! We love you!

Weekend Wrap-Up

We had quite the busy weekend! First I want to say CONGRATS to my Uncle Larry for finishing his 8th Wisconsin IRONMAN race in Madison today. I was tracking him all day using an app (technology can be so cool!) and just saw him cross the finish line on the live feed!!!

Wooooohoooooooo!!!

On to our weekend. It was pretty busy! Some outside time yesterday morning with Barry was fun.

And both girls had dance class! It was Maya's first one and she looked like she loved it.

We then did some apple picking and sprinkler running which was a weird combo of fall and summer.

And with all the apples we made Boom's apple crisp! Yum!

This morning we spent some more time outside. They like to feel independent and go riding across the street by themselves. And Callie is a little monkey in a tree.

It's Grandparents' Day today! So after Sunday school, we headed to Nana and Papa's place for a little celebration.

Since it is Grandparents' Day, we also headed to the cemetery.

We stopped over to see Lucy, Autie Yoda and Uncle Craigles.

And then headed to the airport to see Boom! She has spent the past 10 days in Russia, and we were able to surprise her at the airport to welcome her home. And round out Grandparents' Day.

There are so many things happening in the country and the world.  I keep focusing on GRATITUDE and taking things one step at a time.  Lots of prayers and love to all the hard things going on out there.
