Busy Weekend

Blog Post by Kati:

Wow! I have barely gotten a chance to be on the computer all weekend! Friday we went to my parents' house and out to dinner. Callie was so difficult at dinner as usual:

Haha. Clearly I'm kidding.

We also watched some Olympics, though I find myself being much more entertained by the baby:

Saturday was busy- chiropractor appointment and lunch (which she also slept through!), Target and Babies R Us with my parents to get them stuff for watching Callie, then to the Gosselins for a bit...and then to the Koch's house for a Valentines party! Callie was a hit! And a very good baby...and it was another excuse to wear her Valentines outfit again:

Today we went to church. She didn't sleep through it this time, but was awake and busy! But not noisy...whew. After lunch at Bruegger's (yet another meal she slept through!) we went to Dan's place to watch the USA/Canada hockey game. Bummer USA. We're just at home for a little bit before heading to Jenna and Andy's house for a bit to hang out with our small group.

I start back at school tomorrow full time. It is going to be back to reality- seriously. :(

Finally, a cute video that I took sometime this weekend (this one from Shutterfly):

Big Girl!

Blog Post by Kati:

Little Punkin Head is growing so big and wanting to start doing "big girl" stuff! Many times when she is alert and awake, she just wants to stand up!

Standing up! from Baby Goose on Vimeo.

Notice how adorable her onesie is? We have quickly learned that the Target baby section is totally dangerous for the wallet. I mean- how can you NOT get an "I Love Mommy" onesie for $4.00???? (And a few more other cute ones too...?) I'm going to have to start learning some self control ASAP. :)

Soooo sleepy!

I made it through my 3 day training and now have a 3 day weekend! The true test starts next week when I have very full and busy days back at work. And the grandparents get to start daycare next week! I think they are VERY excited. :) And we are VERY excited that they are doing it!

200th Post!

Blog Post by Kati:

Yep, this is the 200th post! Crazy!

So I've had 2 really boring days back at it- I've been at a special ed audit training. Sounds thrilling, right? It was absolutely horrible leaving yesterday morning. Lots of tears. But Chris brought Callie for lunch yesterday and today so that was wonderful. I have one more half day of the training tomorrow and then am off on Friday before going back to actual work on Monday.

Here is a cute picture from yesterday evening:

Callie did really well with her daddy the past two days (of course!). He texted me pictures and updates throughout the day. Now she's napping hard after eating a lot and spitting up on 2 different outfits and a onesie! I finally stopped putting clothes on her for awhile until I was sure she was done spitting up. :) So I got to hold a cute baby in just a diaper for awhile which is always fun.

2 Months Old!!!

Blog Post by Kati:

It is February 22nd which makes Callie officially 2 months old!

Today (and Friday) are my last days at home with her, so I wanted to make today a fun day! We played with the play gym before her morning nap. Then after her nap I decided to break out the Baby Bjorn (a really nice baby carrier) and we took Kona for a walk! It was great to get out of the house.

She liked it! She fell asleep. :)

Then we went and played in her crib and she loved looking at the mobile again. Here she is in her crib wearing the cute new outfit Grandma got her:

After that she fell asleep in her crib and I tried out our baby "surveillance" system! We have a video monitor so I was able to go downstairs and get some dishes done and monitor her at the same time...her first big girl nap!

Happy 2 month birthday Callie!

Busy!

Blog Post by Kati:

We've actually been pretty busy the past few days! Lots going on on Friday (walking at MOA, hanging out with friends in multiple locations), cleaning on Saturday (and more hanging out with friends!), and delicious lunch at the Gosselins today along with more hanging out with friends tonight! It has made for a really fun weekend, though it has gone by way too fast. Tomorrow is my last official day as a stay-at-home mom. :( Tuesday is going to be really hard so I ask for your thoughts and prayers that day! Since I am going to a three-day training, I actually get time for lunch (I think an hour or so!). Therefore I'm having Chris and Callie meet us so I can see her in the middle of the day. That will help ease the transition a little bit...

Here are a couple of photos from this weekend and a cute video:

Crib Time

Blog Post by Kati:

Where is the time going????????????

Anyway...yesterday Callie slept a LOT of the day. She was up late the night before so she was super tired. One of the times that she was asleep I put her in crib for the first time (she still sleeps in a Pack 'n Play in our room at night). When she woke up she saw the mobile going and was a happy little girl!

Toys and Naptimes

Blog Post by Kati:

Callie and I had a lot of fun this morning playing with her play gym. She still hasn't really figured out that there are toys hanging from it, but I think she's getting close...she accidentally hits them with her flailing appendages!

She was in between outfits after doing an EPIC poop through her first outfit of the day! And I just thought she was so cute in her onesie that I had to get some pictures...so into the play gym she went! :) Look at those chubby legs! Here is a video (I know...obsessive with the videos...but I just can't help myself!):

Babygoose29 from Baby Goose on Vimeo.

So we had a really good play time which means a really good nap time needs to follow. That is what I was trying to tell her, and at first she was basically saying "Haha funny, MOM...not gonna happen!" but I prevailed as shown by yet ANOTHER video:

Babygoose30 from Baby Goose on Vimeo.

Success! The nap time score: Mom=1, Baby=0! I have a feeling that as time goes by, the score will be very different! :)

2 Month Doctor Visit

Blog Post by Kati:

Callie had her 2 month well child visit today. She was not a happy camper!!! But she is perfect and healthy. She weighs 12 pounds 2 ounces and is 23 1/4 inches long. That puts her in the 90 %ile for both weight and height! Not a surprise seeing as I took this picture of her this morning:

HAHAHAHA...such an adorable chunk. And a bad camera angle. :)

I'm getting good at typing one-handed. I have her in one arm while listening to lullabies on pandora.com and trying to get her to sleep.

We went to my school this morning so I could introduce her to some of my students. She was awake and happy. The kids loved seeing her and informed me that her hands and face look like mine. :) I go back to work on Tuesday (which makes me want to cry every time I think about it) but seeing the kids was a good way to start the transition in my brain. Thank goodness for her daddy and grandparents for doing daycare while she is still so little!!! My mom is taking her on Mondays and Fridays, Chris is taking her Tuesdays, Mary is taking her Wednesdays and Bob is taking her Thursdays. We are so unbelievably lucky to have so much help and support.

And finally...here is a cute video from this morning:

8 Weeks Old!!!!!

Blog Post by Kati:

Unbelievable. 8 weeks ago we were in the hospital having our baby. It is hard to imagine life before Callie...it is just so much better now!

She was a good girl today. We went to my doctor for my postpartum check up and she charmed everyone!

Here is a family picture on her 8 week birthday:

Valentines Day

Blog Post by Kati:

We have had a good Valentines weekend! Last night Chris and I went out to dinner and to Target while Grandma and Grandpa babysat. We went to Good Earth (yum...thanks Cathleen!). And at Target our first stop was the baby clearance section where we found two cute little outfits for like $2 each. It was nice to get out without lugging around the baby carrier, but we were very excited to get back to our little girl.

Today was our first church service with a baby. She did great! Slept right through it! We are hanging out today and watching the Olympics.

Here is a video we took on Friday of Callie talking to Grandpa!

Videos. Again. Whew.

Blog Post by Kati:

Okay. I'm sick of writing about the videos just like I'm sure you're sick of reading about the videos. But I found another website that will keep the videos from being "lifted" by random people and are password protected so only the people we want to see the videos can watch them! I sent out the password in some messages to people on facebook and through email but I know I probably missed a bunch of people. If I missed you, I'm sorry. Either send me a message on facebook or email me (kati@twincitizen.net) and I'll give you the password.

We are probably being overly cautious...but the fact that some of the videos I posted on youtube ended up on completely random websites of total strangers really freaked us out! No need for random crazy people watching Callie's videos. They are meant purely for friends and family to watch and enjoy. :)

And again...on to Callie.

We started introducing her to bottled breast milk a couple of times the past week to help the transition for when I go back to work go smoothly. She takes the bottle just fine, I just hate watching her do it. :( I have done a pretty good job of pumping the past month so we have about 10 bags of milk in our basement freezer. I'll continue to pump when I go back to work. I'm lucky in that my schedule is fairly flexible so it shouldn't be too hard to do.

It is 9:38pm and after a pretty crabby day, Callie is smiling and cooing at her daddy. Only we need her to go to sleep! :)

And for one last picture, here is Callie's pink bear snowsuit that she travels in. So cute!!!

YouTube Channel UPDATE

Blog Post by Kati:

Ugh. So Bob found out that other YouTube users have taken some of the videos I posted and put them on their own sites...so we canceled our YouTube account (which means all of the videos on the blog won't work). I will have to research other ways to share videos that doesn't involve the whole world being able to access them. If anybody knows a way to do that, let me know!

On to Callie.

She has been a little bit of a crabby baby today. She has wanted to eat a LOT so I think she's in a growth spurt again or something. But right now she's sitting next to me propped up in a Boppy happy as a clam...we're having a fun gobbledegook conversation of goos and coos and blahs. So here's a picture:

YouTube Channel

Blog Post by Kati:

I've been battling youtube all morning trying to change information so it isn't as annoying when it comes to displaying other unrelated videos to Callie. I have been unsuccessful for the most part. But I did discover that if you directly to this "channel", it seems like it is all our videos and no one elses:

http://www.youtube.com/babygoose806

It doesn't help with the videos on the blog (I don't think) but if you go the the site independently of the blog, all the videos are there to watch without other icky stuff popping up later.

I'll keep trying, but that is what I have figured out for now...

Buddies

Blog Post by Kati:

Callie and I went over to my friend Kylie and her little baby Calvin's house yesterday to play. Calvin is exactly 4 weeks older than Callie.

And of course, as proud new mommies, we took a video:

Babygoose23 from Baby Goose on Vimeo.

Callie has a couple of more buddies coming this spring that we're excited about! Our neighbors, the Moeller's, are expecting a little boy in early March and our good friends from church, the Held's, are expecting a little boy in early May! And between them, Calvin, and our friends from Luther, the Montgomery's, who have a 1-year-old boy Reese, Callie has a lot of boy buddies for when she's older! :)

Bibs

Blog Post by Kati:

Due to the large amount of spit-up that happens after her morning feeding, I've taken to putting bibs on Callie after getting her dressed so she doesn't go through a bazillion outfits in a week (she does that enough on her own with poop blow-outs fairly regularly!). And with this bib, I couldn't resist the photo-op.

I think Kona needs a bib that says "I tolerate my little sister"...

7 Weeks Old!!!!!!

Blog Post by Kati:

Callie Joy is 7 weeks old!!! How is that possible??? :)

She is so DANG cute I can't stand it. Her smiling and cooing has everybody wrapped around her little finger. And she continues to eat a lot and grow A LOT! And poop a lot! And spit up a lot! :)

She also has started noticing more things in the world around her. We started laying her down on the quilt my aunt Jenny made her and she loves looking at all the colors!

This is how she spent a lot of her 7 week birthday...asleep. She's definitely going through a growth spurt.

Busy!

Blog Post by Kati:

We've had a busy couple of days with my sister Laura and Aunt Margie in town! I was expecting some fighting going on regarding sharing Callie, but everyone has been fairly civil. :) Here are a couple of pictures:

And a video of Callie and Laura dancing:

We had a baptism class this morning. Dan and Laura came with us as they are going to be Callie's godparents! The baptism is scheduled for March 21st at 11:30am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Minneapolis.

Crabby Baby

Blog Post by Kati:

Okay, so after continued experimentation I got the videos to actually show up on the blog so you don't have to actually go to youtube!

Little Punkin Head was kind of a crabby baby today. She must be going through a growth spurt because she wanted to eat almost every hour and did a little scream crying every time she wanted to eat. Fun times! :) She didn't sleep much and right now Chris is trying to get her to sleep...which she'll do for a couple of minutes and then wake herself up to cry. Hopefully she'll sleep tonight! We've been really lucky so far with sleeping and I've been kind of waiting for a rough night. We'll see!

Earlier she was TOTALLY faking the cry because I was able to get her to smile in the middle of a cry-fest. So I now call her my little drama queen. :)

Here are a couple of links to videos I took today. One crabby, one cute.

And here are a couple of pictures from today (when she wasn't crabby)! My friend Casey and her 1-year-old Ciri came over for a visit and it was fun to see the two girls together. We also did some reading tonight!

Videos

Blog Post by Kati:

OK...I got all of the videos up on youtube. If you go to http://www.youtube.com and type babygoose806 in the search bar, you'll find them all! :) I also put each link on all of the old blog posts that had a video.

We went to the Gosselin's last night and Callie was doing so much smiling and cooing!!! She was so cute. :)

Today is going to be a calm day before a busy weekend! My sister Laura and my Aunt Margie are both coming this weekend. It will be great to have some great family time!

Here is a picture of the sleeping baby sitting next to me right now!
