Baby Baby

Blog Post by Kati:

It has been so fun watching Callie grow and start really looking at things in the world. She will just stare SO intently at the most random things! She's a real baby now...no more newborn! :) She's also eating a lot and growing like a weed!

Here is a couple of pictures from the past couple of days:

Smile

Blog Post by Kati:

I know I already posted today but I have more adorable pictures and video to share from tonight!

We went out to eat at a local restaurant (Highland Cafe...yum!) with my parents for dinner tonight! Once again, Callie slept the whole time. I'm getting good at timing her feedings so that she's full right before we leave so she sleeps. Plus the car ride puts her to sleep.

Tonight Chris was able to get her to smile...a lot! He tickled her belly and she was smiling like crazy. It was ADORABLE. I got some good pictures and took a video towards the end of her tolerance of Chris tickling her. :)

Toys

Blog Post by Kati:

Callie is 1 month and 1 day old today! I missed blogging yesterday on her 1-month birthday...ooops!

We put together her baby play gym the other day and she liked laying there and looking at the toys attached to it! It will be fun when she starts reaching out to touch and play with the toys.

This morning she was really alert so I put her on her tummy time mat and she found the little toys attached to that and grabbed them. I took a series of pictures that are adorable:

Then I took a video at the end of tummy time when she started getting kind of mad:

I am just constantly amazed at what a good baby she is. We went with my parents yesterday to look at a condo (their house is for sale and they will be moving downtown Minneapolis) and Callie slept the whole time. Three of my girlfriends came over last night for dinner and a movie and Callie was perfect the whole time- either alert and adorable or asleep and cuddly! She also has a pretty regular sleep schedule at night. After feeding her at about 10:30pm or so she usually sleeps til 2:30am to eat and then not again til 5:30am or so. After that she'll wake up about 8am to eat and will go back to sleep again for an hour or so! So I really don't feel too sleep deprived yet. Once I go back to work it will be a different story since I won't have the luxury to sleep until 9! We are SO lucky because I know that not all babies are like her.

We will be taking it easy this weekend...it will be nice to have Chris home for a couple of days. He and Callie are hanging out watching Gopher basketball right now. :)

Busy!

Blog Post by Kati:

We have had a busy couple of days! Last night Chris and I went to the first half of the Timberwolves game while my parents babysat Callie and Kona! It went well. :) It is a little nerve wracking leaving her knowing that I'm the only one who can calm her down if she gets fussy (because she only really gets fussy when she is hungry- we are lucky!). But my parents said she was great.

Today Callie and I met my friend Kylie and her 8-week-old Calvin at the Mall of America for lunch and walking (and a little bit of baby clothes shopping!). It was so nice to get out of the house and move! We figure we walked about 3.5 miles. And it was the first time using our full travel system. It worked great. Callie slept the whole time. Here is a picture of her in the stroller. I couldn't resist taking a picture...lame, I know. :)

And finally a video showcasing crazy eyes, crazy hair (if you look closely you can see a little mohawk) and crazy hands. I realize the videos probably aren't that exciting since it is just her looking around, but since she is still so little that is all she does! So we gotta take what we can get.

4 weeks old!!!!!

Blog Post by Kati:

Callie Joy is 4 weeks old today. I can't believe it (I have a feeling I'll be saying that every time!)...but seriously...time is already flying by.

Here are a couple of pictures of Callie on her 4-week-old birthday!

/>

I actually spent the day away from Callie for a couple of hours (the first time being away from her for more than a half hour!). I still have a bad cough (and Chris has been battling a fever for 4 days) so my mom came over and encouraged us to go get checked out while she baby-sat Callie (thanks Mom!). We went to Target Minute Clinic at first and of course the nurse thought Chris was fine and that I either had bronchitis or pneumonia. So I went to my clinic and saw a doctor who said I didn't have either- just a viral infection of some kind that needs to work itself out. Whew! At least I know it isn't anything to worry about! And I'm VERY thankful Callie hasn't gotten sick so far...thank goodness for the good stuff in breast milk!

Tonight we went back to Target to get Callie's one month photos taken. They turned out really cute and we'll be getting a website link to share the pictures so as soon as I get that I'll post it!

And one more cute picture from this week because it is so darn adorable:

Another video...More sickness

Blog Post by Kati:

Well, Chris managed to get what I have had all week...fever and a little bit of a cough. No fun. Hopefully Callie will be fine. She's been eating really well so she's been getting all kinds of good stuff from my milk. :)

We watched the Vikings game today- SKOL!!! Our friends Dave and Cherilyn came over and so Callie had a lot of love and attention today. So did Kona...but not as much! Kona was lucky enough to go on a long adventure walk with Grandma and Grandpa.

Here is a video I took of Punkin Head Friday:

Kona and Sleeping

Blog Post by Kati:

Well, Kona has become quite the non-sleeper in her own bed. Ever since she has seen Callie in our bed in the mornings she wants to be in our bed all the time. She never used to want to come up on our bed. Now we can't get her off! It is pretty funny but pretty annoying at the same time. Kona definitely has big sister jealousy going on! So we'll see how that goes...

Here are a couple cute pictures...more will be put up on the shutterfly site (http://babygoose806.shutterfly.com).

Days at home

Blog Post by Kati:

I'm really getting in the groove of being at home with Callie and Kona. It helps that Callie is such a good baby! (Can't say the same for Kona all the time, but MOST of the time she's a good doggie...sometimes she gets on my last nerve!) I have the TV lineup on TLC memorized so I watch a lot of wedding shows, makeover shows, and baby shows! The baby shows are very interesting to watch now that I have gone though labor. I remember watching them in college thinking that I would never be able to do it. :)

Today we went on our first solo outing to a public place...Famous Footwear! I needed boots and so I decided to give it a shot with her. She did great- we went right when the store opened so no one was there and she just slept in her carrier. Whew!

Here are some funny faces. We are constantly amused by her faces!

3 weeks old!!!!

Blog Post by Kati:

I can't believe Callie is three weeks old! What a fast 3 weeks! Callie is growing and changing every day and we're just so lucky!

And Callie shares her 3-week birthday with Grandma! Happy Birthday Grandma!

Unfortunately we couldn't help her celebrate because along with a nasty cough I have a fever. So hopefully I'll be able to get some rest tonight and recover quickly! We'll see... :)

Here are a couple more pictures of Callie on her 3-week birthday!

Tummy Time

Blog Post by Kati:

Happy Monday! The week is starting out a little rough. I have a bad cough...so irritating seeing as I had a bad cold just three weeks ago when I gave birth! I just hope I don't get Callie sick!

Here is a video of her tummy time today. Her neck is getting so strong! I think her chiropractor appointments have helped with that (along with no more screaming during diaper changes and a better time feeding)! :)

Sleepy

Blog Post by Kati:

I'm still getting used to our new sleep schedule...though Callie really is such a good sleeper. She gets up every 3-4 hours to eat and eats about 20 minutes at a time. So we're really lucky! But I'm still tired. But such a good tired. :)

We had a good first full week of maternity leave. Not being at work is very weird, but I absolutely love having the the chance to spend so much time with little Punkin Head. I have a feeling it is going to be a fast 7 weeks...

Here are a few pics from the past couple of days at home.

Pictures!

Blog Post by Kati:

As you probably have guessed, we have taken a TON of pictures since Callie arrived. It is too hard to share all of the great pictures we have on the blog, so I started a picture sharing site.

Here is the link:

http://babygoose806.shutterfly.com/

The top of the site has a Pictures tab that has a bunch of different albums (Hospital Stay, Christmas, December, and January). I'll keep adding pictures as we take them!

Doctor's Appointment

Blog Post by Kati:

We took Callie in for her 2-week check-up today. She continues to be perfect! She now weighs 8 pounds and 14.5 ounces so she is growing nicely. She wasn't a happy camper during the check-up, though...she screamed through most of it. :)

It has been fun being at home with Callie this week. She is a great sleeper so I'm able to get some things done. But mostly I like to just hold her and stare at her...haha. Today she tried some tummy time on her tummy time mat. She wasn't too sure about it but I'll try it a little bit every day so she gets used to it.

She's just so darn cute!!!

2 weeks old!!!!

Blog Post by Kati:

I can't believe it has already been 2 weeks since Callie was born!!! It has gone by so fast, but at the same time it seems like FOREVER ago that we were in the hospital. She is such a good baby. She eats, sleeps and poops and does very little fussing. We are really lucky! She has changed so much in 2 weeks...I'm excited to see how she'll change and grow in the coming weeks.

We have a pretty good routine down now. Chris goes to bed a lot earlier than he used to and I go to bed a lot later than I used to! She eats a few times a night and goes right back to sleep. My favorite times are the morning when we don't have to be anywhere because we take her in bed with us and cuddle. Kona joins in on the fun too. She never used to want to come up in our bed, but ever since Callie started cuddling with us there, Kona jumps right up and settles in! :)

Here are a couple of pictures of Baby Goose on her 2 week old birthday (and another video too!).

Go Norse!

Blog Post by Kati:

Callie is sporting her Luther pride today in a onesie and hat given to her by her Auntie Mari!

She continues to be a good sleeper, but has "awake time" more and more every day. Yesterday we saw her eyes for a lot of the afternoon! For those that don't believe that she has eyes, here is a video as proof :)

Happy New Year!

Blog Post by Kati:

We spent New Year's Eve Day and New Year's Day with our families...and we were at home for New Year's Eve night. We BARELY made it to midnight! I was up reading and Chris was dozing as the clock struck 12:00. And then we were both out...Callie was zonked out and slept until 4:30am!!! She is a really good sleeper- day and night. I hope I don't jinx myself by saying that. :)

Here is a picture of 4 generations of Hendersons on New Year's Eve Day. Grandma had fun holding Callie!

Here is Callie on New Year's Eve. This is how she looks after eating when we burp her...her little face and those BIG cheeks!

Here are the Gosselin girls (minus Auntie Cathleen) on New Year's Day. Bob, Mary and Dan came over and brought dinner!

And here are Callie and her Daddy on New Year's Day:

This is what she looks like about 22 hours a day. :) She is such a good baby!
