Timehop Tuesday: The MIAMI Edition!

Hi all! The Timehop today is going back to last Thursday, when we headed to Miami for the girls’ spring break! We landed in the mid-afternoon, got some groceries, found a spot for dinner and experienced our first bout of Miami traffic on our way to the Airbnb condo in Hollywood, FL (16ish miles south of Miami, never took less than an hour to and from Miami!).

Once we settled in, our first stop was sunset at the beach, just  short walk from our condo. It was beautiful!

On Friday morning I was up early for a stroll on the boardwalk and then breakfast on our little patio. We were armed with sunscreen, braids and then when it started to rain, our beach day plans turned into heading to Miami for Plan B…a museum called Superblue…an interactive art experience.

We found lunch nearby at a place right up my alley…The House of Mac! So much cheese. Delicious!

It was still raining off and on, but it didn’t bother us too much. We drove around Miami and stopped for some treats.

When we got back to Hollywood, it had stopped raining, so the girls got in some beach time.

And then, it poured. We walked to dinner in the rain, but enjoyed a beautiful sunset on a dry walk back. Also, so many shoes already on day 2.

Saturday was the best weather day of the trip, so it was our beach day. I went for a run in the morning and enjoyed looking at the palm trees and beautiful clouds. Then I treated myself to an iced coffee.

Oh man, the beach was glorious! We spent 5.5 hours there (and despite layers upon layers of sunscreen all day, we got a bit red)…

And the freckles popped!

That evening we drove back to Miami for dinner at a spot called Luna! It was delicious, as they make the pasta fresh.

The sky on Sunday morning was magical on my walk.

We headed down to Fort Lauderdale to the Flamingo Gardens, a wildlife rescue. We saw so many different kinds of birds and other animals

There were SO MANY peacocks wandering around.

We found a restaurant that was known for healthy options and then stopped by a different beach on the way back to the condo. The weather was pretty stormy most of the day.

We got pretty wet walking to dinner that night, even though the restaurant was less than a half mile away!

Monday was another beautiful day! We headed over to the Everglades for an alligator boat tour.

And the back to Miami for lunch and driving around the port.

The highlight of the day was definitely the Museum of Ice cream! It was a crazy experience with lots of free scoops of various ice cream flavors!

After that experience we did a little shopping on a popular street in Miami, and saw a bunch of robot delivery vehicles on the sidewalks. Then it was back to the beach for one last time!

Thanks Florida, we had a blast! 🌴☀️🌊

A special shout out goes to G-ma for holding down the fort (and all the animals) at our house during a blizzard! We were not sad to miss that chaos.
