A Picture Update

It’s been quite a week so here goes:

The End of an Era (Elementary School 😭)

Hi all.

Today was a big day. Maya graduated from 5th grade, which means we are all done with Washburn Elementary after being there since September 2015.

Callie graduated from 8th grade, which means starting next year we are entering the high school era. 

And finally, just to make myself shed more tears than I already have today, here’s Maya at the start of elementary and now today at the end of it.

And now Callie at the start of middle school and today at the end of it

And Callie at the start of Kindergarten and the end of 8th grade 😭😭😭😭😭😭.

And finally, both girls after 5th grade graduation 

Ok now I’m a puddle on the floor and still have to make it one more week until my summer starts.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Monday!  Happy Memorial Day.  We had a nice weekend. 

On Saturday Chris, Maya and Boom went to the Lynx game...and Maya got to shoot a free throw after the game.  They were also visible on TV. 

On Sunday I came across a huge lilac bush on my run that smelled divine. Later we went to see Uncle John and Aunt Jen (in town from Denver).  Uncle John got Callie and me tickets to see MJ the Musical on it's last day in Minneapolis.  It was awesome!.  Then we all had dinner at the condo.

Later we tried watching the T-Wovles game and Luna was being weird.  We all bailed on the game and I went to meet Hanna for a late happy hour.

Today we went to Uncle Dan, Auntie Hanna, Mitchell and Isla's house for lunch.  The dogs played and Luna looked like a crazy animal.

It was a perfect Memorial Day meal!

A Picture Update

Happy Friday! And it’s a long weekend!!! I only have a few pics today.

Last week, Maya was excited about meeting a Vikings player at school. They posted some photos on the school’s Instagram page…and guess who was in the photos giving CJ Ham high fives??

This morning I was out with Luna before the storms came though, and each direction of the sky was a different color. It was beautiful.

Weekend Wrap- Up

Hey all! Happy Sunday! We had a fun and busy weekend. 

On Friday night my mom and I went to the Lynx home opener (an 8:30pm start) that resulted in a double overtime WIN and us not getting home until almost midnight! But it was a great time and I’m so excited for having great seats for this season. You can even see us on TV sometimes! Chris sent the pic below. 

Then I woke up Saturday morning and headed to Minnehaha Falls for my race! It was a beautiful and humid morning. 

I got a mimosa at the finish line. 

Maya and Chris spent most of the morning/afternoon planing new bushes on the side of our house. Then she had an open gym at gymnastics and Luna was cute. 

Mitchell and Isla came over for playtime and dinner. We enjoyed running around the field and they loved the wagon ride. 


After lunch the girls spent a few hours at Boom’s house. 

Our exciting news of the day is that both girls agreed to join me for a 5K race at the end of August! We will set up a training schedule this summer, and we went on a run this evening to feel it out. They both seem excited (though only one would allow a photo-op)!

I do not have many pics this week. Chris has been on a cooking kick, which is great for me. And I had a staff retreat at Woodlake Nature Center today, so I was able to go on a couple lovely walks!

Weekend Wrap-Up: Happy Mother’s Day AND Happy Birthday Pa!

Happy Sunday!  It is a big day today...first up, it is Pa's birthday!  We love you and hope you have a great day!

And Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful moms and grandmas out there!

We had a lovely little weekend.  On Friday night, Chris and I went to cheer on the Timberwolves!  It was a terrible game, but we had fun being a part of the crowd.

On Saturday morning we went to an early Mother's Day brunch at Pinstripes (YUM), and spent most of the rest of the day cleaning and doing yard work.  We enjoyed the afternoon sun in the backyard for a bit later on.

This morning I went for a beautiful 3 mile run.

And then I got a couple of adorable and hilarious Mother's Day cards once the girls woke up.


We went to church with Boom and then met up with Auntie Yoda, Uncle Craigles, Lucy and Mila for lunch and a sunny walk around Centennial Lakes.

Today was HOT! We enjoyed some sweaty relaxation time this afternoon.

Later we had G-ma, Auntie Hanna, Auntie Cat, Mitchell and Isla over for a deck dinner and backyard play time.

A Picture Update

Then there was just beautiful nature.  One of my dahlias popped already!  And the 5:40am sun tints the tops of the trees red, while the lilacs have fully bloomed.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday!  We had a fun weekend, and enjoyed the beautiful spring weather as much as we could!

On Friday night, Chris and Callie headed to Target Center for the first Lynx pre-season game.

Yesterday morning the girls had dance pictures, so I was able to bribe them to take a photo in their blue numbers...but I sat at the studio for over an hour as they rotated through costumes for all the pictures. The dance recital is coming up in about a month!

This morning I did a four mile run and it was delightful.

This afternoon Maya and I went with Auntie Cat for a nature hike, which was also delightful.  We saw so many deer, turkeys, ducks, birds, and even a cat on a leash!

A Picture Update

Hey all-

I gotta say I'm happy to have made it to May.  Spring is in the air and summer feels at least a little bit on the horizon!

On Tuesday morning, Hanna and I got up, packed up, and said goodbye to our cute little cabin and the pretty lake and headed home to our families. Check out my Monday blog if you missed seeing all our long weekend shenanigans.

Tuesday night Chris and I went to a Lynx Season Ticket "Rookie" Orientation, where we got to meet one of the Lynx's new rookie players, Alissa Pili!

On Wednesday afternoon we enjoyed the beautiful weather and our blooming tree.

With the phone consultant help of G-ma, I got my spring pots planted on Thursday.

Tonight Luna and I had the house to ourselves, so we enjoyed some sunshine on the couch.
