Just the girls today…time is flying by!

Weekend Wrap-Up: The Memorial Day Weekend Edition

Hi all!  I'm very grateful we had a 3 day weekend.  We had some fun!

On Saturday morning I ran a 10K race. Maya sent me off with a "Happy Run!" card...and then was my cheerleader, along with Boom, who was also my photographer.  The race was a good learning opportunity...I started off too fast, but I finished within my expected time frame.  So I was happy.

After lunch I took Maya to a gymnastics open gym, where she could do whatever she wanted for an hour.  She spent most of her time working on her one-handed cartwheels (she got them figured out!) and the beam. Later we ate dinner on the deck and the girls played outside.

On Sunday morning, Chris treated us to an unexpected brunch out at our favorite brunch spot!  Then we got all the paddle boards ready for the beach and Luna barely tolerated a hot walk.

Later in the afternoon we went to the beach...Paddle Board Season has begun!  Woohoo!!!

This morning the girls and I headed out to Auntie Yoda and Uncle Craigles' house for a BBQ lunch and DQ treat.

This afternoon we headed to Auntie Cat's house for another outdoor meal and playtime!

There may have been some water squirter wars…

…and sticky S’mores.

There are lots of planes that fly over Auntie Cat’s house, and Isla loved watching them. How cute is this picture??? (Photo credit: G-ma).

A Picture Update

Hi all. Happy Friday. 

This school year is craaaaawwwwlling to a close (literally at a snail’s pace). But I’m here. 

We had a friend’s birthday dinner on a patio, I’m happy to be back in training, and we watched the Survivor finale (some of us in robes on exercise balls).

My pots are growing in nicely (left side was a few weeks ago, right side is this week).

There was talent show and show choir and ice cream.

And I hope a very early bedtime tonight…

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday!  We had a nice weekend...it was a combination of productive at home with some busy outings. 

Our outing for the day was Lucy's dance recital and then an outdoor pizza dinner at Auntie Yoda and Uncle Craigles' house.

This morning I had my half marathon training week 2 "long run" and it was lovely.

Later Maya and I walked to the park, and then she had gymnastics.  

Tonight we met the Dahlen's for dinner on Snuffy's patio, and the children spent time hanging out in front of the Snuffy's sign...

A Picture Update

May is a marathon…not a sprint. The girls have 2 weeks of school left, and I have 3. We will make it. But holy moly.

Weekend Wrap-Up: Happy Mother's Day!

Hi all!  Happy Mother's Day!  My children all cooperated for a picture today.  Hooray!

We had a nice and busy weekend.  Yesterday morning I went on a chilly run, and then Luna joined me for a cool down walk.  The girls had dance pictures after lunch, and it was a bit chaotic! 

We went to a big birthday party for Pa (and Chris' Uncle Gary) in the afternoon and saw a whole lot of Gosselin aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. that we haven't seen for a long time.  It was great to see everyone!

We had fun hanging out with the family!

Last night the girls had fun playing with Luna in the basement.  Craziness ensued, as always.

This morning was rainy, but I went on an early morning walk anyway...and was rewarded with lilacs.  And then later, Eggs Benedict! 

We went over for Boom's house for play time and lunch.

And of course we had to FaceTime Avery and Auntie Mari!

This afternoon G-ma, Auntie Cat, Uncle Dan, Auntie Hanna, Mitchell and Isla came over for more cousin playtime and a deck dinner...including homemade Sangria.

We have had a mama duck nesting in one of our front bushes, and just in time for Mother's Day, her eggs began to hatch!  Click here for a video.  It's kind of hard to see, but you get the gist!

Happy Mother's Day to Boom, G-ma, Nana, Gigi, Grammy, and all the other wonderful mothers out there!

Happy Birthday Pa + A Picture Update!

Happy Friday…and Happy birthday Pa!!!!! Glad we got to celebrate with you tonight! 

Tacos and a lake walk and crazy kids…lots of birthday fun!

As for the rest of the week…some homework on the porch, some cookie baking, and FINALLY some blooming trees!

And a hair cut (with a little bit of “peekaboo” color underneath).

While the haircut and color was happening, Maya and I were busy with flower buying/planting, magazine reading, and candy eating.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Hi all-

We had a fun weekend...Saturday was cloudy and rainy and Maya found some sock pairs with Luna's unwelcome help.  And Sunday was sunny! 

This morning we went downtown to Boom's house, and we stumbled upon food trucks and the 60th Guthrie anniversary open house.  We got to take a backstage tour.  It was awesome!

Later, Maya went on a scooter ride while Luna and I walked.
