Weekend Wrap-Up
I have already informed you about the Children's Museum, Sidewalk Chalk and Bubbles, and the wedding!
But we still did a lot more this weekend.
Yesterday we went to the condo and went on a fun walk down by the river:

Then we had a playdate at Jenna, Andy and Charlie's house:
Today Chris and I spent most of the day cleaning out crap from our house (it was ridiculous...and we're nowhere near done) while Callie played at G-ma and G-pa's house.
Stuff we donated:

Then Cathleen made us a yummy dinner and Callie was a BUSY girl!
How fun are toddlers? And how exhausting at the same time? I'm thankful for all of the amazing playtimes that we have. But I'm also VERY thankful for naptimes. She is still rocking two solid 1+ hour naps a day, but I'm wondering when that will change. Glad I have the summer to be home to be with her while she continues to grow into a little girl!
But I still ask myself every once in a while: Where did my baby go???? :)

Jill & Isaac's Wedding!
It is naptime for 3 in our household, so I have a quiet moment to organize all of the pictures from the weekend.
It was SO MUCH FUN! The wedding was beautiful:
Callie was C-R-A-Z-Y and only wanted to run around at high speeds. No sitting and resting for her. So she kept many people busy and entertained before the ceremony, during the ceremony (Daddy was on duty) and during the cocktail hour.
She made it through dinner
and then just started falling over while walking around, which is the tell-tale sign that bedtime is approaching. So Chris took her home and I got to stay and DANCE the night away. It was a blast hanging out with my family and all the Suurmeyers(though I missed my husband!).
On Saturday we went to the gift opening and got a picture of all 7 Henderson/Suurmeyer kids. We have many of these kinds of pictures from the past 20 years...most of them showcasing the awkwardness that is the teenage years. But here we all are, as grown-ups. Crazy.
As per usual, I will be loading a bunch more pictures on to Shutterfly.

Last night Mari came over and we went to the park. I brought along the bubbles and sidewalk chalk I bought at the Children's Museum, so we got to try both of those out.
Nothing beats the look of wonder on a toddler while seeing something cool for the first time.
She couldn't get enough of them...and we obliged.

Children's Museum
In an effort to get Callie REALLY tired so she takes a REALLY long nap so she can (hopefully) stay up a LITTLE later tonight for the wedding, we went to the Children's Museum.
It was fun as usual! It wore both of us out.
The best part was that, despite my best efforts, she fell asleep in the car on the way home...and I successfuly performed a car to crib transfer!

Fun Ahead!!!
This time of year is awesome.
The school year is wrapping up. Summer is so close I can almost taste it: warm weather, swimming, lemonade, playing, napping, barbeques, etc. are the only things on the agenda starting June 11th.
More immediately, we have a fun weekend ahead! Our dear family friend Jill is getting married, and we started the festivities off this evening with dinner with most of both the Henderson and Suurmeyer families. The Henderson/Suurmeyer friendship goes back 30 years. We grew up visiting each other in the summers and going on cruises together!
We missed Nathan, Jessica, Chris and our Laura tonight, but are very excited to be all together in a couple of days!
In true Suurmeyer style, Laura S. created Royal-Wedding-Style-Hats that we got to wear.

Weekend Wrap-Up: 17-Months-Old and a Graduation!
This has been an exciting weekend! First up, Callie Joy is 17-months-old today.
As a 17-month-old she is
*getting curly hair
*continuing to develop her hilarious personality
*definitely knowing what she wants/likes and what she doesn't want/like
*so happy
*signing please, more, thank you, drink, all done
*all about the fist-bumping and doing "cheers" with cups (over and over and over)
*getting into Dora the Explorer (mesmerizing her with it is the only way we can clip her nails)
*shy at first, but warms up quickly
*the most fun toddler ever!
There are a million more things I could write about her, but I must get on to the other exciting part of the weekend.
Mari has officially become a Luther alum! She graduated this morning and we were all down in Decorah to celebrate. There are (of course) many pictures from the weekend that are posted on the Shutterfly Site. But here are a few of my favorites:

Social Butterfly
Callie's social calendar has been filled lately. And, unfortunately, her nap schedule has not been as filled (though we've tried!).
Wednesday: Playing with George
Thursday afternoon: Playing with Calvin
Thursday evening: Playing with Ciri
Neither Callie nor Ciri slept much today, so Casey's neighbors were treated to a double toddler meltdown at about 7:15 this evening. And I got to have my first car seat fight (picture Callie screaming and making her body stiff as a board to avoid being strapped in; picture me frantically trying to do everything in my power to get her body to bend so I could strap her in).
This all was followed by the most. dramatic. bedtime. ever. I don't have the energy to write about it. Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday.
