I remember this day from 13 years ago…it’s crazy how time flies!

And I also remember putting this baby Maya sleeping collage together as we were not getting any sleep and she was only sleeping on us!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Hi all! We had a very busy day yesterday…and a very relaxed day today. It’s all about balance, right?

The first big event of yesterday was our 25th high school reunion at Minnehaha. Dan and Hanna came with (we left 3 of 4 kids at our house with G-ma) and we had a great time catching up with friends we hadn’t seen in years (or decades)!

We took a tour of the building. In 2017 there was an explosion that basically demolished the building we knew, so everyone from our class who was there (about 35/100) was very interested in seeing the new space. It was beautiful! And they had a whole area dedicated to alumni artifacts, including old phone books and even a photo of Cathleen and her German teacher!

About halfway through our tour, we ran into our band director, Mrs. Hallberg, who is still there! She came to our wedding 20 years ago. And she was able to point to each of us from our group and name the instrument we each played…25 years ago. Amazing!

Then there was a rooftop happy hour where we mingled, looked at old photos, and enjoyed the lovely evening.

Before we had to head out, a few of my girlfriends from elementary school and I recreated a photo from our 6th grade Washington DC trip in what I think was 1993. The fashion was impeccable!

We then headed out to take photos of Callie for Homecoming!!! We met her group at Centennial Lakes to take pictures in their fancy clothes before the dance.

Her date is Alex…her boyfriend. :)

They had a blast at the dance, and she was tired today!

We just hung around at home and got some things done.

Everybody watch the Lynx at 7!!! They need all the positive vibes they can get. They need a win tonight to keep their season going. 💚💙🖤🤍

Happy Sunday!

This weekend has been a bit of a whirlwind. Chris had training both days, I got a lot of cleaning done, we had family over, and the Lynx played!

Avery and Josh were in town for the weekend so his mom and Avery came by yesterday afternoon so the cousins could all play!

Maya cleaned the gerbils cage and I gerbil-sat and they were stinkin cute.

And Maya got some high fives after a successful Lynx game!

Maya and Chris came to my school carnival on Wednesday.

And I got a (free) perm! My close friend at school’s daughter was testing for her cosmetology license, and since my hair is already weird and curly, I figured…why not?

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Sunday! We had a fun weekend.

Maya and I went to Petsmart (where she tried to convince me we needed a 4th gerbil…we do not), and a couple of her friends came over after dance.

We went to Uncle Dan and Auntie Hanna’s house and chaos ensued with dogs and children.

And Maya and I went to the girls Lynx playoff game!!! They won!

Happy Sunday! We had a nice weekend.

Yesterday there was some Luna snuggle time, a sleepover and room cleaning.

Also, we had an early birthday celebration for Boom and Peter!

Today we had fun exploring the Edina Art Fair!

And of course, some gerbil content.

A Picture Update

Whew! The first week of the school years is done and I think it’s safe to say we are all tired.

The only other picture I have is a little Luna playtime.

Both girls participated in the student-led national school walkout protesting violence. Maya’s group ended up finding a protest group to join. I’m proud they both wanted to do something to use their voice and am so sad that this is what they have to use it for.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Turning weekend is almost done and chaos is about to ensue…!!

Maya and I go back to school tomorrow and Callie goes back on Wednesday. Dance also starts up this week and one or both girls will be there every day of the week but Friday and Sunday.

But the weekend was lovely!

Maya and I rode on one of the swans (aptly named Goose) with Hanna and the cousins.

We had lots of gerbil time.

And I made soup and we went out to dinner with the grandmas.

Now I hope Maya will be able to fall asleep at a reasonable hour for the 6:20am alarm that hasn’t been set since June!
